What is the aim of this website?
The aim of the site is two-fold: to act as a focal point for the Kent Volunteers paintball team, but also to act as a provider of useful information for those who play or who wish to play woodsball/recball/scenario.
What is woodsball/recball?
Paintballing now comes in several main flavours: Tournament/'speedball' and Scenario.
Tournament is usually played by 5 or 7 man teams on arenas with inflatable objects. A fast-paced spectator sport it is rapidly growing in popularity.
Scenario derives from
the original sport of paintballing. It is most people's entry point into the
sport as it is played at most recreational sites. It usually involves
playing the open countryside or woods; wearing camouflage clothing and playing 'capture the flag' or
similar objective based games. Games are usually based around a scenario theme
such as events from military history or Science Fiction films. There are number
of scenario games held across the UK and abroad that the team participate in. This too is growing in popularity with players and teams trying add new levels of realism
and depth my using pyrotechnics, military looking markers and equipment. Many players play both types, or have done in the past.
